Amalia Lopez, was a devoted and loving wife, mother and friend. She was born in El Rancho Pamaceo/Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico where she met and married the love of her life and our wonderful father Raul Lopez. It was a match made in heaven. In 1964 they would pick up and move their family to the small town of Bagdad, Arizona. They lived in Bagdad for 35 years and were able to raise their six kids and save up for a retirement home in Prescott Valley, Arizona and in Mexico.
Amalia was by definition a very compassionate and caring person who was always there to lend a hand and/or a positive message. Amalia will always be remembered by these things, but also by the huge number of close friends and family who will always miss her.
She inspired us to be kind, honest, compassionate and fully giving of ourselves. For these reasons, we have chosen to honor her memory through two of her passions - supporting the community and hard work. The Amalia Lopez Memorial Golf Tournament will help graduating students from our small community to further their education.
